Lift up your voices!

Quainton Parish Church Choir sings at every evening service.

Though few in number the choristers are enthusiastic and do a valiant job enhancing our liturgy.

Occasionally they join the large Schorne Team Choir which sings at other local churches in the group .

Barbara Fell writes:

At present we have only eight members and desperately need more singers in all voice parts to enable us to be more adventurous in our choice of music.

If you would like to join but cannot commit yourself to coming most Sundays, you would be welcome to come for special occasions such as Easter, Harvest Festival, Armistice and Christmas.

Rehearsals are at 6pm before the evening service so anyone interested in joining should come along to the church then.

Several times a year we have a chance to extend our musical skills by becoming part of the Schorne Team Choir which sings at the occasional team services in the various churches in our local group of parishes.

Schorne Team Choir rehearsals are held about two hours before the service unless the music requires more practice – extra rehearsals are then arranged as necessary. We very much enjoy singing with this larger group and also getting to know villages within the team and choristers from other parishes.

A message for young people:

Can you play an instrument?

A Group of Young Musicians play for our Family Service on the second Sunday of each month, including keyboard, flute, clarinet and saxophone. Anyone able to play guitars and drums would be very welcome. Any young instrumentalists who wish to take part should come along and talk to us at any second Sunday Family Service.

We would also very much like to start a singing group – anyone up for it?
